In my practice I utilise the medium of drawing and painting to bridge the gap between figuration and abstraction. My creative process usually begins with drawing from live models, creating quick, loose sketches to stimulate my imagination and generate new ideas.  Often I layer one drawing on top of another and rub back with a cloth to create a ghost-like effect on the paper. Pastel sketches  are also used to explore colour and composition. Generating  ideas for painting.
